Net News(Article/Picture Dean's Office Kefeng Jiang) According to the Notice of Chongqing Municipal Education Commission on Carrying out the Monitoring and Evaluation of Undergraduate Majors in Ordinary Universities in 2023 (Yujiao Gaohan [2023] No. 84), the university organized the monitoring and evaluation of undergraduate majors in 2023 from December 4th to 25th. This professional monitoring and evaluation is carried out in accordance with the professional construction and development concept of "student-centered, output oriented, and continuous improvement". Based on the principles of systematicity, scientificity, operability, and classification guidance, a quantitative and qualitative approach is adopted, and it is the second consecutive year that the Chongqing Education Commission has carried out professional monitoring and evaluation at the municipal level. Our university has 20 undergraduate majors participating in this professional monitoring and evaluation.

In order to do this work well, on December 4th, the school issued a special notice to deploy and arrange work, and clarified the workflow and specific requirements; On December 7th, the organization participated in a special training on professional monitoring and evaluation in Chongqing. At the same time, the school has established a special contact method for work, timely conveying the requirements of the Municipal Education Commission, and resolving and exchanging data and system support issues in a timely manner. Each professional college overcomes the difficulties of having a lot of work to do at the end of the year. By comparing five primary indicators, including moral education, student development, teaching staff, teaching resources, and professional influence, 15 secondary indicators, and 42 tertiary indicators (37 quantitative indicators and 5 qualitative indicators), the current situation of professional construction is carefully sorted out, and the achievements of professional construction are organized to conduct professional self-evaluation; The dean of the college personally checked and reviewed the materials of the college item by item, ensuring the accuracy of the professional monitoring and evaluation data, authenticity of the materials, and clear expression. On the morning of December 25th, Vice President Mingshu Tan organized the Dean of the Professional College, Vice Dean of Teaching, and relevant personnel from the Academic Affairs Office to conduct a special study on the monitoring and evaluation of the profession; An in-depth analysis was conducted on the potential issues with each indicator point, and consensus was reached on how to mine data, understand individual indicators, and other related issues. After the meeting, each professional college revised and improved the relevant data again, and it was not until the late night of the 25th that the school completed the upload of all the data for the participating majors.

The professional monitoring and evaluation work this time is mainly organized by the Academic Affairs Office, and is specifically responsible for the secondary colleges. At the same time, it has received strong support from units such as the Quality Management Office, the Personnel Department, and the Recruitment Office. Through professional monitoring and evaluation, the awareness of the importance of professional construction has been enhanced, and the gap with first-class majors has been identified. This has an important promoting effect on a deeper understanding of professional characteristics and connotation construction, and will have a significant impact on improving the quality of professional construction.
