Civil Engineering Institute Held 2019 Academic Seminar on “School-Enterprise Cooperation and Cooperative Education”

Net news (Article / News Center of Civil Engineering Institute Xiting Tang, Photo/ News Center of Civil Engineering Institute Yaoyun Zhang) On the morning of October 16th, Civil Engineering Institute held a seminar on Civil Engineering in the second conference room of the administration building of Nanquan campus. The purpose of this seminar is to conduct in-depth communication and discussion on the problems and demands of “School-Enterprise Cooperation and Collaborative Education” in order to adapt to the needs of industrialization and digital development of architecture, and adapt to the needs of local economic development of Chongqing, and combine with the current situation and development requirements of talents of various majors of Civil Engineering Institute. The meeting was presided over by vice President Quping Zhu.

At the meeting, vice President Changhua Cheng took the characteristics and effects of school-enterprise cooperation of Chongqing Institute of Engineering as the main line and introduced the school-enterprise cooperation, school-running orientation, school-running mode and some practices and effects of school-enterprise cooperation of CQIE. There are six industrial cooperation modes in CQIE: three major industrial colleges, professional cooperation mode, innovation lab (staged cooperation mode), post-stage intervention cooperation mode, industry-teach-research cooperation, order-class training, etc. Executive President Jiang Lei explained in details the subject orientation, cultivating applied talents,  and fully cooperating with the talent training plans. Marked achievements were scored in the university-enterprise cooperation, and Lei hoped that enterprise cooperation could make all the business and students benefit through innovation center, training programs and other patterns.

The leaders and experts from the companies who attended the meeting shared the actual cooperation cases and cooperation topics between the enterprises and the students of CQIE in turn, and proposed to improve the students’ project consulting ability through setting courses such as project management, so as to achieve resource integration and build up teaching staff through special trainings. Ying Liu, general manager of Chongqing Jun’en Engineering Cost Consulting Co., Ltd., suggested that the senior students in the company to go back to school and give career lectures to the students. In addition to the division of majors, students can also refine their major directions. Through the class system, students can make clear their own study and employment directions. Lei Zhao, general manager of Chongqing Qi ’ao Engineering Cost Consulting Co., Ltd., hoped that the school can take proactive measures to strengthen students’ knowledge of the industry. Minjian Lu, director of BIM Office of Chongqing Jinke Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd, emphasized that students should enhance their individual collaborative consciousness, professional quality, dedication and professional skills.

In the end, the dean Hong Ren pointed out in his summary speech that the college attaches great importance to students’ internship employment, and hoped to make students understand the actual projects through special lectures on enterprises, build a knowledge and skills sharing system with various companies, and cooperate in educating people. The in-depth development of school-enterprise cooperation not only provides a practical platform for college students, but also enhances their competitiveness in the employment process, and provides a good foundation for deepening the reform of the educational environment.
