CQIE Participated in the "Sino-British Education Connection" Activity to Jointly Build a Sino-British University Communication Platform

Net news (Article/Photo International Affairs Office Xuan Fu) In order to build a Sino-British university cooperation platform and promote mutual learning and cooperation, on November 28th, the Nanshan Campus of Chongqing University of Education held a "Sino-British Education Connection-Chongqing Mission" activity. The event was co-organized by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission and the Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy. Representatives from six British universities Birmingham City University, De Montfort University, Manchester Metropolitan University, Ulster University, University of Huddersfield, and University of the Highlands and Islands, and representatives from seven Chinese universities including Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences, Yangtze Normal University, Chongqing University of Education, Chongqing College of Humanities, Science and Technology, Chongqing Institute of Engineering, Foreign Trade and Business College of Chongqing Normal University, Chongqing Nanfang Translators College of Sichuan International Studies University participated.


At the meeting, Qiang Huang, deputy director of the International Department of the Chongqing Education Commission, attended and delivered a speech. In her speech,  Yandan Wang, director of the Southwest District of the Cultural and Education Department of the British Consulate General, stressed that the Cultural and Education Department of the British Embassy is a platform for promoting cultural and educational exchanges between China and the United Kingdom, laying the foundation for further establishing a partnership between universities in the two countries, promoting the globalization of education, deepening international exchanges and cooperation, and promoting an open and diversified talent training model in colleges and universities. On behalf of the school, Xuan Fu, deputy director of the International Affairs Office of our university, introduced the current exchange projects carried out by Chongqing Institute of Engineering, including establishing contacts with South Korea, Russia, Italy, the United States, and other overseas colleges and universities in 2019, and carrying out short-term exchanges and student exchange programs. At present, two students in the school of management have participated in the exchange program for one semester, and 12 students majoring in business English from the School of Management have participated in the SWT program in the United States.


It is reported that the British Consulate General Chongqing and the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission signed a memorandum of understanding on education cooperation between China and the United Kingdom at the beginning of the year, covering areas ranging from pre-school areas to higher education. The event is also the result of the signing of the memorandum of cooperation. Through the Sino-British education connnection event jointly organized by the Chongqing Education Commission and the Culture and Education Department of the British Embassy, we can build platforms for colleges and universities, explore opportunities for cooperation and establish long-term and mutually beneficial partnerships. CQIE has also reached a preliminary intention with six British colleges and universities to participate in the "Sino-British Education Connection-Chongqing Mission" event, which is conducive to further strengthening exchanges and promoting cooperation.
