At noon on September 21st, the School of Civil Engineering held the launching ceremony of the “clear your plate” campaign in the Heyuan No. 5 Square of Nanquan Campus. President assistant Jiandong Wang, Minister of Education and Engineering Yan Huang, and Dean of the School of Civil Engineering Jiang Lei attended the opening ceremony. Tao Huang, secretary of the Youth League Committee of the school, led a total of more than 200 counselors and student representatives from the entire college to participate in the launch ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Jun Li, Secretary of the Party Branch of the School of Civil Engineering.

Dean Lei emphasized the background significance of launching the “clear your plate” series of activities at the launching ceremony. He pointed out that this year’s global new crown pneumonia epidemic has sounded the alarm for food security. Although my country’s food production has been harvested year after year, the whole country should maintain a sense of crisis and urgency. He hoped that this event will enable all teachers and students of the college to actively respond to the “clear your plate”, internalize the concepts of diligence, thrift, and hard work in their hearts and externalize them in action.

Lei Yang, a student representative of the School of Civil Engineering, majoring in engineering cost in 2019, read the “clear your plate” proposal and led all teachers and students to take the oath. The president assistant Jiandong Wang affirmed the achievements of the teachers and students of the school in responding to “saving food”, and encouraged students to continuously improve and exercise themselves in terms of ideology, ethics, scientific research, physical and mental health, and employment and entrepreneurship capabilities. Assistant Wang also put forward the growth requirements of “4 times once” for all students in the school. He hoped that the students would “participate in a skill competition, participate in an innovation and entrepreneurship competition, be a student leader, and have a healthy body” during the university.
