On the afternoon of December 9th, the School of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence held a special academic lecture. This time, Dr. Mu Li, director of the Institute of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence of our school was invited. The topic of the lecture was "Inference model of cause and effect—Three Levels of Artificial Intelligence". More than 70 teachers and some student representatives from the school attended the lecture. Vice-dean Xin Chen presided over.

Before the beginning of the lecture, Vice-dean Chen stressed the significance of the school's "Big Discussion on New Era Undergraduate Education and Teaching Thoughts". She pointed out that how to integrate political education in the curriculum into professional teaching, how professional teachers can enhance students' professional quality through professional expertise, and ideological guidance all require professional teachers to repeatedly practice and demonstrate in the education and teaching process to draw correct conclusions. She also emphasized that technological innovation is a continuous force for national advancement. Experts’ professional knowledge teaching can organically integrate science and technology, academics, education and teaching. She hopes that students will work harder in the future to realize the expectations of General Secretary Jinping Xi for the younger generation, and continue to bravely climb academic peaks and be promising youngsters with knowledge and ideas.

During the lecture, Dr. Mu Li explained in detail what is causal science, the past and present of causal science, what are the common machine learning tools, and other topics that are close to the actual life of students through the prepared videos and pictures. Some attractive videos are interspersed from time to time, such as the relationship between smoking and cancer, robots playing Go, and so on, introduced the application of data science technology in daily life and work from multiple angles.

With the constant deepening of the content, the students' enthusiasm for interaction became stronger and stronger, and the phenomenon of raising hands to speak appeared from time to time. Dr. Li patiently answered the questions raised by every student. He hopes that the students will realize that the focus of big data should not only focus on algorithms, but the actual business environment of data.
