Chongqing Institute of Engineering Organized and Carried Out “Teaching Demonstration Course” Observation Activity in 2020-2021 Academic Year

Net news (Articles/Photos Teacher Development Center Xiaoying Zhang) In order to improve the education and teaching level of young teachers and give full play to the exemplary role of excellent teachers in teaching, the Teacher Development Center held the 2020-2021 academic year “Teaching Demonstration Course” observation activity in Room 117 of 6th Teaching Building on the afternoon of December 11th. In this activity, Qian Yang, the Vice President of the College of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, was specially invited to give lessons to some new and young teachers. More than 40 teachers from secondary colleges came into the class and exchanged teaching skills together.

Associate Professor Qian Yang lectured the stored procedure part of the course “Database Application Technology”, which separated the abstract data stored procedure step by step, guided students to master the creation, execution, modification and application of the stored procedure, and then understood the learning situation of students with the help of “Learning Comprehend”. Professor Yang’s vivid cases, accurate language, natural link between teaching links, unique teaching style and heuristic teaching methods have attracted the students and teachers present to participate in the thinking of the problems. The whole teaching process is rigorous and smooth, which shows the unique charm of blended teaching for teachers and students present, and forms a good demonstration effect for teachers.

Professor Mingwu Cao, the Supervisor of school, analyzed the characteristics of this class from the perspective of the supervisor and clearly points out the links that new teachers should pay attention to and the place that they need to learn. Xiaoying Zhang, the teacher of Teacher Development Center, guided teachers to analyze the classroom elements according to the demonstration lesson,, and to analyze and think about the experience and harvest in the classroom organization, key and difficult points, the embodiment of ideological and political elements, curriculum evaluation and other aspects with their own analysis.

Finally, the Vice Principal Qionghua Wang put forward the requirements on the teaching posture, teaching design, teaching methods and teaching skills of all the new teachers, emphasizing that the university teachers are not only disseminators of knowledge, but also the spiritual guides, encouraging everyone to carefully grinding the course, thinking deeply and being a good teacher standing on the platform. The teachers who participated in the observation also expressed that the observation of the teaching demonstration class was a very good learning opportunity. They also hoped that the Teacher Development Center could continue to carry out different forms of activities, build a platform for teachers communicate, create a learning atmosphere for teachers in a community and do a good job in education and teaching related training according to the needs of teachers.
