Students of the Department of Big Data Have Won Great Achievements in Mathematical Modeling and other Competitions for College Students

Our school won the best organization award of "Teddy Cup" competition.

The "Teddy Cup" competition officially started on September 7th, 2020, and lasted for two and a half months. A total of 1167 teams from 182 universities across the country signed up for the competition “The Asia Pacific College Students mathematical modeling competition” was officially launched on August 6th, 2020, which lasted for four months, with nearly 30000 students from 782 colleges and universities signing up for the competition. Students from 39 985 universities including Peking University and Tsinghua University and 112 211 universities participated in the two competitions. In addition to Chinese mainland universities, there are also selected teams from University of California, Losangeles, University of Oxford, Rheinisch Westfaelische Technische Hochschule Aachen University, National University of Singapore and other universities in the United States.

The two competitions are mainly online competitions. The department of big data and artificial intelligence has prepared for the competition carefully. After the competition officially started, the department has set up a competition instructor group. After school competition, selection and intensive training, 33 excellent teams were selected to participate in the competition and showed strong professional quality, practical ability and innovative spirit. Finally, guided by Yinglong Wang, a teacher of the department of big data, the students Jiuli Wan , Lu Wang , Xin Lan's competition project "recommended tactic for online course function of education platform", As well as the teacher Dezheng Wang guidance, students Shangqing Huang, Su Xiang and Yongxi Wang's project "COVID-19 data analysis" won the first prize of the Teddy cup competition. In addition, the competition project directed by Chong Jin and Dezheng Wang, teachers of big data college, won one second prize and two third prizes of "Asia Pacific University Mathematical Modeling Competition" respectively, and our school won the best organization award of "Teddy Cup" competition.

It is reported that students of our school have actively participated in two events in recent years.
