The School of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Organized a Faculty Conference and a Symposium with Student Representatives

At the faculty meeting and the special training meeting on teacher ethics and style, Dean Yaoqin Cao conveyed General Secretary Xi Jinping’s spirit of instructions on “doing a good education for the people’s satisfaction” at the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference in the medical and health sector and education sector. A special training on the construction of teacher ethics and style was given, entitled "Being a Good Teacher in the New Era". Dean Cao emphasized that Lide Shuren is a complex systematic project. Schools are the main positions of Lide Shuren. Teachers are the guides of Lide Shuren. The society is the soft environment of Lide Shuren. Teachers should be the value leaders of the healthy growth of students, the spiritual caregivers of the healthy growth of students, and the defenders of the image of teachers. Dean Cao also emphasized that he hopes that this training will become an important entry point for the comprehensive development of the college’s teachers’ morality and style. After that, the School of Big Data held a symposium with student representatives at the beginning of the 2018 and 2019 levels. Dean Yaoqin Cao, deputy party branch secretary Wei Shang, deputy deans Xin Chen, Qian Yang, and class tutors, counselors and student representatives attended the meeting.

At the symposium, student representatives actively spoke, and based on their own learning and living conditions, they exchanged views on academic guidance, subject competitions, postgraduate interviews, English Band 4-6 exams, innovation and entrepreneurship, and ideological confusion. The students expressed that they hope that the college will pay more attention to the positioning and planning of students in postgraduate entrance examinations and employment, and be able to provide targeted guidance.

The teachers at the meeting listened carefully to the questions raised by the students, and gave explanations and suggestions one by one. Dean Cao said that he was very pleased to see that the students took the initiative to consider the issues of academic employment and development planning. The college will also seriously study and solve related issues as soon as possible, and give everyone a satisfactory answer.
