(Interpreter: Siying Xu) Our Campus Organized Thematic Training on "Language Arts for Teachers" Net news (articles/ Faculty Development Center Ke Chen pictures/ Chengcheng Guan) In the afternoon of 19 March, The bureau of personal( faculty development center) organized thematic training on “ language arts for teachers” in the smart classroom on the first floor of the library in Nanquan Campus and Dr. Peng Luo, the Associate Professor of Teacher Education college in the Southwest University, was invited to serve as presenter. This training was divided into on-site training and online live broadcast, all new recruiting teachers in 2021 and instructors participated in on-site training, and the other full-time teachers without teaching tasks watched the training through online live broadcast, with a total of 357 staff get involved in training.
![]() ![]() At the training session, Dr. Luo first elucidated the knowledge barriers, cultural handicaps and psychological obstacles in language expression by illustrating and showing pictures and then explained the funnel effect in speech and how to change speech attitudes, methods and strategies so that avoid communication problems through small games. Next, Dr. Luo also elaborated seven common problems in teachers’ language expression: language habits, content, ideas, processing, object, angle and attitude, and provides effective solutions from the aspects of teacher’ pronunciation skills, speed and tone adjustment, language content, speaking occasions, the needs and personality etc. He also emphasized that teachers should be deep into shollow, trun difficult into easy, reflect the wisdom of teaching, simultaneously, exchange thinking with students to learn to listen attentively to students. Finally, Dr. Luo concluded that only by mastering the art and skills of language and putting students in mind can teachers achieve better communication.
Throughout the training, Dr. Luo used humorous language, smooth and clear expression, and entertaining teaching to let the teachers understand the charm of language, indulged in a lively and absorbing training. The teachers integrated into the classroom actively and interacted ardently, benefited greatly. Finally, in sharing the training gains and feelings, the representatives of participating teachers stressed that they would certainly apply what they have learned to their teaching in the following teaching process, making the teaching language more attractive and the classroom more vivid. |
