Our School Holds the Preliminary Competition of the 8th Chongqing Science Popularization Explanation Competition (Banan District) 

Net news (article / pictures Science and Technology Division Dongmei Xia) On April 14th , the preliminary competition of the 8th Chongqing Science Popularization explanation competition (Banan District) was held in the academic lecture hall of our university, which was sponsored by the science and Technology Bureau of Banan District and jointly organized by the science and Technology Association of Chongqing Institute of technology and the Youth League Committee of Chongqing University of technology. Jie Lin, chairman of science and Technology Association of Banan District, Changrong Chen, deputy director of science and Technology Bureau of Banan District, and Jiandong Wang, assistant president of Chongqing Institute of technology, attended the activity. In this competition, a total of 22 contestants from schools and hospitals in the district competed on the same stage to popularize scientific knowledge for the audience in a simple way.

 At the scene, the contestants showed their own skills and told the secrets of the galaxy, 5G Winter Olympics, Beidou navigation system, Chinese chips and other scientific knowledge from different angles “Do you really know about the new vaccine?” “Are you using your cell phone right?” “What's going well with Xiaomi's car making?” “If you are a person with enough experience and have a better understanding of the local climate characteristics, ‘watching the clouds and knowing the sky’ also has a certain significance.” The enthusiastic interpretation voice of the contestants, coupled with rich and colorful presentations, makes the audience enjoy it. After the competition, Changrong Chen, deputy director of science and Technology Bureau of Banan District, spoke highly of the school's organizational work. He said that as an important starting point to improve the scientific quality of citizens, the popular science explanation competition will continue to carry out this activity in the future to create a social atmosphere of learning science, loving science and using science in the whole district and improve the scientific quality of citizens in the whole district. After the competition, our school will have 6 contestants representing Banan District to participate in the eighth Chongqing Science Popularization explanation competition, and the school will also win the excellent organization award of the competition.

It is reported that the popular science explanation contest was officially launched in March this year. Through the preliminary election, a total of 22 contestants participated in the contest. The contestants explained according to their own propositions, covering the relevant popular science knowledge of natural science or technical knowledge, and the judges scored according to the content statement, language expression and overall image. The competition aims to popularize scientific knowledge, carry forward scientific spirit, spread scientific ideas, advocate scientific methods and improve citizens' scientific quality.
