Our School Held the 7th Reading Festival “Classic Chanting” Poetry Concert

Net news (Article/Picture Shiyong Tang, Library) In order to carry forward the excellent traditional culture, enrich the education form of party history learning, and set off a learning boom for teachers and students to “read classics” and “sing poetry”, on the afternoon of June 4th, our school’s seventh Reading Festival “Classic Chanting” poem concert was held in the Nanquan campus lecture hall. This event was jointly organized by the Library and the University Student Library and Information Management Service Center, more than 400 students came to watch the event.

At 15 o’clock in the afternoon, the concert officially began with the singing of “Scholarly Years”, a total of nine songs selected from the Secondary College appeared on the stage. The program selected “The Reeds”, Wei Wang’s “Love Seeds”, Shangyin Li’s “The Sad Zither”, Shi Su’s “Prelude to Water Melody”, Xin Mu’s “Slower Days in the Past”, Mei Yuan’s “Moss”, Qichao Liang’s “Chinese Youngs’s Voice”, Shutong Li’s “Farewell Song”, Qingzhao Li’s “Tune: Like a Dream” and so on, all adapted from classic poems. The atmosphere of the performance was elegant, and the vocal music was repeated. The contestants sang emotional, sometimes whispered and euphemistically, sometimes high-pitched and loud, using the music of the present and the affectionate singing of the ancients, interpreting the understanding of the poetry culture, and wonderfully showing the beauty of sound, rhythm, meaning and rhyme of the ancient Chinese poetry. The students were deeply attracted by the emotional singing, and warm applause erupted from time to time in the lecture hall.

According to the person in charge, this event began to collect songs from the end of April and received nearly 200 singing videos in total. After careful selection, Yuchi Yang’s “Scholarly Years”, Mingyuan Luo’s “Alongside the Water”, Chunmeng Chen’s “Acacia”, Siyan Wu’s “The Sad Zither”, Huarong Liu’s “When Does the Bright Moon Have”, Tingfeng Chen’s “Slower Days in the Past”, Chengpei Liao’s “Moss” Chongqi Wang’s “Chinese Youngs’s Voice”, Xiuying Tan’s “Farewell”, Chengpiao Liao and Tingfeng Chen’s “Whether You Know” and other ten songs came to the fore. The concert lasted for one hour, and the chic style and flowing verses gave teachers and students a healthy aesthetic enjoyment.
