Shuangqiao Campus Held the First College Student Mathematics Ability Challenge of CQIE

Net news (article/ picture College of General Education Jiali Yang) On May 27th, the final results of the first college student mathematics ability challenge of CQIE, organized by the Mathematics Teaching Department of the College of General Education and co-organized by the Virtual Mathematics Teaching and Research Office of Sichuan-Chongqing Colleges and Universities, were officially announced. A total of 60 people won the rankings. There were 10 first prizes, 15 second prizes, 20 third prizes, and 15 excellent prizes. This competition is the first college student mathematics ability challenge held by CQIE. It is organized by the Mathematics Teaching Department of the College of General Education and co-organized by the Virtual Mathematics Teaching and Research Office of Sichuan and Chongqing Colleges and Universities. The challenge held the online preliminary and offline finals on May 14th and May 21st respectively.

From 14:00-17:00 in the afternoon of May 14th, the Mathematics Teaching Department of the College of General Education used the "Chongqing University Online Open Course Platform" to conduct the first phase of the online preliminary competition. The content is mainly advanced mathematics and linear algebra, there are a total of 50 multiple-choice questions with a maximum score of 100, a total of 2160 students participated, 40 of whom had scores of 90 and above. From 14:00-16:00 pm on May 21st, the second stage of offline finals will be officially held, a total of 295 participants.Wei Yan, deputy dean of the College of General Education, came to the competition site to supervise and guide. After the offline competition, after careful review of the test papers by the grading teachers, a list of winners was finally selected.

It is reported that the main purpose of this competition is to stimulate and cultivate college students' interest in learning mathematics, popularize basic mathematics science, and strengthen and improve students' creative thinking ability, while laying the foundation for improving the quality of advanced mathematics teaching in our school, it also cultivates students' sense of competition and helps to form a good learning atmosphere.
