The research direction of the team is how to explore the Earth, the formation and evolution laws of the Earth, and solve the resource and environmental problems for human survival. Commonly known as doing "CT" for the Earth.
Mobile platform detection technology is the core technology for Western developed countries to implement technological monopoly on China. In the past few years, the team has been persistent, dedicated to research, undertaken more than 20 national level projects, and achieved a series of breakthrough results.
Through interdisciplinary integration and cross departmental collaboration, the team designs and develops a new generation of intelligent unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) carrying platform, forming an integrated high-precision and high-efficiency joint detection system for airborne systems; Develop aviation gravity and magnetic total field and gradient detection technology, as well as software processing technology for real-time and post mobile platform comprehensive parameter correction, to achieve a breakthrough from 0 to 1 for the entire aircraft gravity gradient instrument; To achieve the integration of multiple methods of gravity, magnetism, electricity, seismic, and well detection information for three-dimensional geological targets, develop an integrated software platform for comprehensive information analysis for three-dimensional geological targets, and achieve the integration and comprehensive interpretation of massive and diverse detection data.
The team also organized the collection and comprehensive research of comprehensive geophysical profile information with a total length of over 15000 kilometers in the Northeast region, established the theory of diversified exploration of oil and gas resources, discovered new oil and gas resources in the basin edge domain, and achieved social and economic benefits.

Introduction to the Research Project of the Team of Earth Exploration and Information Technology Teachers at Jilin University
The team mainly conducts research on deep Earth exploration technology and applications (conducting CT scans of the Earth). Breakthrough achievements have been made in mobile platform detection technology, crustal No.1 drilling rig, nuclear magnetic resonance water exploration, and diversified geological resource exploration theory and technology.
1) Mobile platform detection technology
In response to the strategic tasks of mineral resource investigation, deep exploration, and exploration under complex exploration conditions in China, we will develop rapid mobile platform detection equipment technology for land, air, and sea to improve detection efficiency and accuracy; Mobile platform detection technology is the core technology for Western developed countries to implement technological monopoly on China. Through interdisciplinary integration and cross departmental collaboration, (1) design and develop a new generation of intelligent unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) carrying platform, develop, introduce and integrate advanced airborne detection sensors and related equipment, and form an integrated high-precision and high-efficiency airborne joint detection system; (2) Develop aviation gravity and magnetic total field and gradient detection technology, electromagnetic detection technology, LIDAR high-precision positioning system and terrain correction technology, as well as software processing technology for real-time and post mobile platform comprehensive parameter correction; (3) Develop an integrated software platform for comprehensive information analysis aimed at three-dimensional geological targets, achieving the integration and comprehensive interpretation of massive and diverse detection data, and integrating multiple methods of information such as gravity, magnetism, electricity, seismic, and well detection for three-dimensional geological targets.
2) Magnetic Resonance Detection and Wavefield Joint Imaging System
To address the severe shortage of freshwater resources in China, especially in arid and semi-arid regions in the west. Conquering direct groundwater detection technology is of great significance for searching for groundwater in arid and semi-arid areas, efficiently and accurately evaluating groundwater resources, and conducting geological disaster monitoring and early warning. The team has proposed for the first time a combined wave field imaging detection method of nuclear magnetic resonance and transient electromagnetic, which seeks to quantify the relationship between deep water and formation electrical structures. This has enabled the quantitative interpretation depth of groundwater to reach 400 meters, breaking through the maximum detection depth bottle neck of 150 meters for foreign nuclear magnetic resonance groundwater, and the detection efficiency is 3-5 times that of NUMISplus; Solved the difficulties of detecting deep pore water and determining the well location of bedrock fissure water, making China the second country in the world to produce nuclear magnetic resonance water detectors. In 2010, when a severe drought occurred in the southwestern region of China, 26 water sources were found for the people in the disaster area, effectively solving the problem of drinking water in the disaster area. 3) Crustal No.1 10000 meter scientific drilling rig
With the goal of increasing the depth and sampling intensity of scientific drilling verification, we have successfully developed China's first "Crustal-1" 10000 meter deep continental scientific drilling equipment, breaking through multiple major key technologies and filling the gap in China's deep continental scientific drilling field. We have tackled the technology of fully hydraulic top drive drilling and achieved long-distance hydraulic drive drilling for core extraction in large-diameter drilling; By tackling the technology of automated swing pipe and applying bionic theory, we have achieved automated operation of drill pipe columns between the wellhead and the discharge frame; The automatic feeding technology of drilling tools has been tackled, improving the accuracy of automatic control and the efficiency of drilling operations; Developing high-temperature resistant drilling fluid technology that can meet the needs of deep hole 260 ℃ high-temperature cementing; High temperature resistant electromagnetic drilling measurement system for scientific drilling, achieving real-time transmission of bottom hole measurement information; Tackling deep hole wellbore stabilization technology to ensure the safety of drilling engineering wells. The Crustal No.1 drilling rig has been successfully applied in the international continental scientific drilling project "Songliao Basin Continental Scientific Drilling Project" in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. Currently, the drilling depth has reached 6758 meters, setting a record for scientific drilling in the Asian continent.
4) Theory and Technology of Diversified Exploration of Geological Resources
With the continuous support of multiple natural science foundations and provincial-level projects, multiple comprehensive geophysical profile information collection and comprehensive research have been organized and implemented in the Northeast region; After years of research and practice, the theory of diversified exploration of oil and gas resources has been established, and the exploration methods and technologies for oil and gas resources in the basin edge domain have been developed. New understanding of structural problems in the basin edge domain has been given, and new oil and gas resources have been discovered in the basin edge domain. Original achievements have been made in exploration theory, exploration technology, and oil and gas exploration. Moreover, in order to achieve the goal of effectively implementing large-scale resource exploration and survey under complex environmental conditions, the application and promotion have promoted technological progress in the industry and achieved social and economic benefits. Through the transformation of scientific research achievements, a historic breakthrough in high-yield industrial oil flow of 51.84 tons/day of crude oil was achieved in the Jiang77 well on the western slope of the Songliao Basin. Through the implementation of the Fangzheng Fault in Daqing, a high-yield industrial oil flow of 10.8 cubic meters per day was obtained at a depth of 3216 meters. The Tang-3 well in Tangyuan has obtained an industrial airflow of 79000 cubic meters per day. The incremental benefits of direct reserves exceed 2.758 billion yuan.
