Net news (article/Security Department Haoran Liu picture/College Student Journalist Team )In order to enhance the emergency response awareness of geological disasters among teachers and students, and improve the ability to handle emergencies, on the afternoon of May 14th, our school's security department, together with the student office and the secondary college, conducted a geological disaster emergency evacuation drill in the student community and Garden No.1, and invited Instructor Yang from the external training center to guide the drill.

At 14:30, a simulation exercise was conducted to simulate the scenario of "sudden earthquake causing severe shaking of the dormitory building". As sharp alarms sounded, students on each floor, guided by counselors, safety officers, and dormitory managers, quickly covered their heads with books and bent down to evacuate in an orderly manner along the evacuation route. The evacuation of all personnel was completed in 3 minutes and 15 seconds, with a 25% increase in speed compared to the predetermined target. The standard rate of safe haven actions reached 90%, and there were no accidents such as stampedes or falls.

After the drill, Instructor Yang conducted a comprehensive review of the evacuation process and provided emergency skills training on key aspects such as safe haven posture and the use of emergency tools. She also demonstrated the three principles of shock absorption: "lying on the ground, covering, and holding hands firmly" on site, and taught the practical method of "covering the mouth and nose with a wet towel to prevent smoke and choking". Through practical teaching, students deeply realized the importance of emergency skills and expressed, "I used to think that disasters were far away from us, but today during the drill, I heard the alarm sound and my hands were shaking! Instructor Yang's training has truly taught me how to protect myself." "As the dormitory head, this training has made me realize that not only should I be able to escape on my own, but I should also lead my classmates to master the skills together

This activity has effectively enhanced the practical skills of teachers and students in dealing with geological disasters through a closed-loop management model of "practicing and testing contingency plans, training to enhance capabilities, and reviewing and improving mechanisms". In the future, schools will continue to promote the normalization of safety education, deepen safety awareness, and build a solid defense line for the safety of teachers and students' lives.
