Our school's volleyball team won the sixth place in the men's first division of the 2025 Chongqing University Volleyball Competition

Net news (article/picture Meng Qiu from the Basic College)The 2025 Chongqing University Volleyball Competition, hosted by the Chongqing Education Commission and organized by Southwest University of Political Science and Law, was held at the Southwest University of Political Science and Law Gymnasium from May 13th to 17th. After fierce competition, our school's volleyball team won the sixth place in the men's first division.

In this competition, more than 1000 athletes from 62 teams from 36 universities including Chongqing University and Southwest University participated, divided into three groups: Group A (undergraduate students), Group B (vocational college students), and Group C (high-level and sports major students). Our school attaches great importance to this competition, led by Xiong Wen, the director of the Physical Education Teaching and Research Office of the Basic College, and coached by Xueya Zu  and Meng Qiu. After careful selection and rigorous training, a total of 26 students were selected to represent the school in the competition. During the preparation period, the team overcame difficulties and conducted high-intensity and systematic training on the field, analyzing the strength of each serve, the height of passing, the direction of the ball, the angle of the spike, and the coordination of blocking. During the game, the team members adjusted their tactical strategies in a timely manner, quickly establishing a leading advantage by strengthening defensive resilience and improving counterattack speed. The whole team faced the game calmly, relying on precise passing coordination, flexible running scheduling, and highly lethal spike attacks to firmly control the pace of the game, and successively defeated universities such as Chongqing University of Science and Technology and Chongqing Medical University.

This competition not only strengthened communication and exchange among various schools, but also fully demonstrated the spirit of unity, progress, and overcoming difficulties among our teachers and students. The achievement of this outstanding result is inseparable from the hard work of the team members and also thanks to the comprehensive reform of physical education teaching in our school. There is always a winner or loser on the field, and the struggle is endless. The school volleyball team will take this competition as a starting point, continue to work hard, and strive for excellent results on the future court.
