The School of Software Led a Team to Win the Gold Medal in The Provincial Competition of ICPC International College Student Programming Competition

Recently, the 2025 ACM-ICPC International College Student Programming Competition - Sichuan Province Competition has come to a successful conclusion. Our school's students broke the record, and the "Heavy Industry Team 1" composed of students such as Hongyu Li and Xiang Zhang won the first ICPC provincial competition gold medal in school history with the team ranking 11th and the school ranking 6th, successfully advancing. The other two participating teams won bronze and championship awards respectively.

It is reported that the International Collegiate Programming Competition (ICPC) was founded in 1970 and is one of the largest and highest level international competitions in the world, known as the Olympics in the field of computer software. This provincial competition is hosted by Leshan Normal University and has attracted 61 schools and 272 teams from the Yunnan Guizhou Sichuan Chongqing region, including Double First Class universities such as Dianke, Sichuan University, Dalian University, and Yunnan University.

The ICPC International College Student Programming Competition has always been a must compete venue for Double First Class universities to showcase their talent cultivation achievements. The ACM Programming Competition team of the School of Software has created a unique "dual teacher dual track" training system, which has broken through the bottleneck of private university programming competitions in the past five years. It has not only successively broken through national first prizes in related competitions such as the Blue Bridge Cup, Ruikang Robot Programming, and Baidu Star, but also won the first bronze medal in the ICPC Asia Regional Competition in the history of the university. This mode has promoted the quality and efficiency of software talent cultivation simultaneously. In the past five years, more than 10 students of the team members have entered Wuhan University, East China Normal University and other two first-class universities for further study, and dozens of undergraduate graduates have joined Alibaba, Baidu, ByteDance, Zoom and other enterprise core technical posts.
