Powering Up for the New Semester!The 2025 Fall Semester Counselor Training and Student Affairs Meeting Concludes Successfully

To ensure the smooth development of student affairs in the new semester, clarify work directions and priorities, and enhance the performance capabilities of all student affairs staff, our university held the 2025 Fall Semester Counselor Training and Student Affairs Meeting in Conference Room 807 of the No.7 Teaching Building on September 5th. Jiandong Wang, Vice President of the university, attended the meeting. Participants included staff from the Student Affairs Office, the Communist Youth League Committee, and the Literacy Education Center, as well as Party General Branch Secretaries, (Deputy) Directors of the Student Affairs Sections, and all counselors from each secondary college.

Yi Zhao, Director of the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Education Development Foundation at Chongqing University of Technology, delivered a special report titled "The Construction and Implementation Path of the University Student Affairs System".

From the macro, meso, and micro perspectives, he deeply expounded on the contemporary significance and specific practical paths of building a scientific student affairs system, providing valuable theoretical guidance and experience for the student affairs work of our university.

Qi Zhang, a psychological physician from the Psychiatry Department and Director of the Medical Center Office at the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, combined a large number of real cases and started from the actual work scenarios of counselors. He analyzed in detail the whole process of student psychological crisis identification, intervention and disposal, and emphasized the precautions for key links, which effectively enhanced the counselors' ability to respond to sudden psychological crisis events.

Subsequently,Yan Huang, Director of the Student Affairs Office, reviewed the key points, achievements, and existing problems of the student affairs work in the first half of 2025. She made arrangements and plans for the student affairs work in the new semester, emphasized the key tasks at the beginning of the semester, and also put forward the work plan for the new semester from the perspective of cultivating students' comprehensive quality.Meanwhile, at the meeting, she conducted an in-depth interpretation of the university's characteristic "4321" funding and education system. From the practical operation level, she also explained in detail the selection criteria, review procedures, and standard requirements of various scholarships and grants, so as to ensure that the funding work is more accurate, fair, and efficient, and effectively plays the role of education.

Finally,Jiandong Wang delivered a concluding speech. He pointed out that conducting regular professional training is not only an inevitable requirement for promoting the high-quality development of the university's student affairs work, but also an important measure to advance the professionalization and career development of the counselor team.He emphasized that all student affairs staff should deeply understand the new situation and new requirements faced by university student affairs work in the new era, always maintain a full work enthusiasm, vigorously promote a pragmatic work style, continuously improve their education capabilities and service levels, and earnestly undertake the glorious mission of cultivating talents for the Party and the country.

This Counselor Training and Student Affairs Meeting was rich in content and focused on key points. It included not only work summary and deployment, but also professional theoretical guidance and practical operation training, laying a solid foundation for the orderly and efficient development of student affairs work in the new semester.
