Our school held a commendation ceremony for the 41st Teacher's Day and a lecture on teacher ethics and style

On the afternoon of September 10th, in order to promote the spirit of educators, commend advanced models, and consolidate the power of education, our school held the 41st Teacher's Day Commendation Conference and Teacher Ethics and Style Promotion Conference in the Academic Lecture Hall of Nanquan Campus, with the theme of "Educationist Spirit Casting Souls and Strengthening Teachers, Composing a Chapter in the Construction of an Education Strong Country". We extended our holiday wishes and high respect to all teachers.

Vice Chairman Dezhi Li, President Fangcheng Sun, Party Secretary Changhong Chen, and all other leaders from home and school attended the commendation ceremony. More than 1000 teachers and student representatives participated in the event. At the same time, all faculty and staff members of Shuangqiao Campus participated in the meeting online simultaneously. The conference was presided over by Yeping Zhang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Executive Vice President.

The conference kicked off with the majestic national anthem.  Changhong Chen delivered a speech at the conference. On behalf of the Party Committee and the administration of the university, he extended holiday blessings and high respect to all teachers in teaching, scientific research, management and service posts, and warmly congratulated the exemplary individual who were praised. Changhong Chen pointed out that as an applied undergraduate institution, Chongqing University of Engineering shoulders important responsibilities in serving national strategies and regional economic and social development.  Changhong Chen demands that we must continuously strengthen ideological and political guidance, and adhere to arming teachers' minds with scientific theories; Secondly, we must vigorously improve the long-term mechanism for the construction of teacher ethics and style, and regard teacher ethics and style as the first criterion for evaluating the quality of the teaching staff; We need to deepen the comprehensive reform of teacher management and improve the teacher evaluation system; We must make every effort to create conditions for the development of teachers, increase training efforts, and build growth platforms.

Teachers are the foundation of education and the source of education. To strengthen education, we must first strengthen teachers. Promoting the spirit of educators is the call of the times. All attendees watched the national lecture video on teacher ethics and conduct on site, and learned about the advanced deeds of the national model of teacher ethics and conduct. At the event, all teachers listened attentively and recorded in detail, deeply infected.

In 2025, Chongqing University of Engineering will produce a group of outstanding teachers who work hard in their respective positions, uphold morality and cultivate themselves, devote themselves to educating students, pursue excellence, and are willing to contribute. They will practice the spirit of educators with practical actions, accompanied by the inspiring music, and the teachers will step onto the stage. The school leaders will award honorary certificates and bonuses to the representatives of award-winning teachers.

Vice President Jiandong Wang presented awards to outstanding collectives and individuals in employment work for the 2023-2024 academic year, as well as to outstanding class supervisors and part-time counselors for outstanding ideological and political teachers for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Xiaoyong Tang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, presented awards to outstanding guidance teachers for quality education and sports competitions in the 2024-2025 academic year, as well as outstanding guidance teachers for subject competitions in the 2024-2025 academic year.

Vice Principal Mingshu Tan was awarded the title of Outstanding Guidance Teacher for the 2024-2025 Academic Year Teacher Teaching and Professional Skills Competition, and the representative of the winning team of the Third Teaching Achievement Award presented the award.

Yeping Zhang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Executive Vice President, is the national first-class undergraduate course leader, Professor Guiti Jin. He will be awarded as a representative of the scientific research award for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Party Secretary  Changhong Chen presented awards to outstanding counselors and educators for the 2024-2025 academic year, as well as outstanding teachers for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Principal Fangcheng Sun awarded the school level teaching masters and outstanding teaching and research teams for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Vice Chairman Dezhi Li presented awards to the "Loyalty, Dedication, and Achievement" representatives who have worked in school for 20 and 24 years.

In the speech session of outstanding teacher representatives, three teachers, Xiaoling Zhang, Meichen Sun, and Ling Li, respectively shared their stories of striving and advancing together with their classmates along the way, expressing their educational feelings. They expressed their willingness to continue supporting students with a high mountain like posture, allowing them to soar in a broader sky.

Subsequently, in 2025, representatives of newly recruited faculty and staff collectively took an oath, pledging their loyalty and commitment to the education cause with a resounding and powerful oath, demonstrating their determination to build a high-level applied university with distinctive characteristics, and to continue to strive for the cultivation of socialist builders and successors with comprehensive development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor skills.

 Fangcheng Sun first congratulated the award-winning teachers and teams in his speech. He briefly reviewed the achievements of the school in teaching results, subject competitions, and enrollment and employment in the past academic year, fully affirming the important contributions of the teaching staff.  Fangcheng Sun pointed out that in the current and next stage, schools will focus on four aspects: first, improving the quality of personnel training and preparing for review and evaluation; Secondly, deepen the integration of industry and education, and innovate the mechanism of educating people; Thirdly, promote AI empowerment and embrace digital transformation; The fourth is to strengthen discipline construction and enhance the level of education.  Fangcheng Sun hopes that all teachers, firstly, must firmly uphold their ideals and beliefs, and become "practitioners" of moral education and talent cultivation; Secondly, we should cultivate professional ethics and conduct, and be the "guide" for students' growth; Thirdly, we need to enhance our professional competence and become skilled "cultivators" in our business; Fourth, we must have the courage to innovate and practice, and be the "vanguard" of teaching reform; Fifth, we need to strengthen practical application and become a "promoter" of the integration of industry and education.

 Fangcheng Sun emphasized that building a high-level applied university with distinctive characteristics is a glorious mission and a great responsibility. I hope everyone can take the advanced models commended today as examples and strive to write a new chapter of high-quality development for Chongqing Institute of Technology, making new and greater contributions to the construction of an education strong country and city. Before the meeting, the council and school leaders attending the commendation conference took a friendly photo with the representatives of the commended teachers.

After the commendation conference,  Fangcheng Sun,  Changhong Chen, and Zhang Yeping went to each college to visit the representatives of teachers who had won the "Loyalty, Dedication, and Achievement" award.
