Targeted Preparation, Joint Endeavor: Our University Holds a Teaching Innovation Competition Experience Sharing Session for Teachers

This news (text/photos by Jing Zhang, Teacher Development Center) – To further enhance the teaching innovation capabilities of our faculty, the Teacher Development Center hosted a Teaching Innovation Competition Experience Sharing Session on October 10. The event was held in a hybrid (online + offline) format, with nearly 200 teachers from across the university participating. It was hosted by Ming Yu, Assistant Director of the Teacher Development Center.

The session invited teacher representatives who had won awards in previous Higher Education Teacher Teaching Innovation Competitions and the Western China University Teaching Innovation Competition to share insights, focusing on different tracks and modules.

LinCui Sun (School of Computer and Internet of Things) combined her competition experience to analyze key links (track design, evaluation criteria, material preparation) for efficient preparation, comparing the two major teaching innovation competitions.

Yongjia Bian (School of Basic Sciences) took College Physics as an example and systematically explained the full preparation process for basic courses through the "Four Questions of Teaching Competitions": What to compete for? How to prepare? How to break through in materials? How to reflect after the competition.

Bo Li (School of Digital Arts) focused on the industry-education integration track, walking through the entire process (university-enterprise collaborative preparation, innovation report writing, classroom recording) and presenting a replicable, practical strategy for this track (covering what to integrate, how to integrate, and how to record).

Yi Tang(Supervisor) focused on the curriculum ideological and political education track, sharing preparation experience systematically through the three-step method: understand the connotation, identify key elements, refine innovation – to make ideological and political elements "seamlessly blend" into teaching (like "salt dissolving in water").

After the sharing, participating teachers generally noted that the four thematic sessions transformed competition preparation experience into vivid, concrete teaching cases. The content was detailed and highly guiding, further strengthening their confidence in "promoting teaching through competitions and driving reform through competitions."

The university will continue to provide a full-chain service of pre-competition training, in-competition guidance, and post-competition reflection to encourage more teachers to advance in teaching innovation, and effectively translate competition achievements into new impetus for improving talent cultivation quality.
