School of Electronic Information Holds 2025-2026 General Assembly & "Top Ten Academic Pacesetters" Awards Ceremony

Correspondent News (Text/School of Electronic Information, Hanmei Ma; Photos/University Student Journalists Group) To inspire all faculty and students of the School of Electronic Information to embrace the new academic year with greater enthusiasm and high morale, confront new challenges, and define new goals, the School held the 2025-2026 Academic Year General Assembly of Faculty and Students & the "Top Ten Academic Pacesetters" Awards Ceremony in the Academic Lecture Hall on the afternoon of October 10th. All school leadership, faculty, staff, and students attended the assembly, which was presided over by Meichen Sun, Deputy Secretary of the School's Youth League Committee.The conference commenced solemnly with the national anthem. During the meeting, Jing Huixiang, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office, elaborated on the "Implementation Plan for 'To Youth'—Academic Atmosphere Construction in the School of Electronic Information." Renyong Zhang, Assistant Dean, announced the "Decision on Appointing 11 Teachers, Including Yinfang Zhang, as Class Professional Mentors in the School of Electronic Information." Xinghong Jing, Vice Dean, read out the "Decision on Recognizing the 'Top Ten Academic Pacesetters' for the 2024-2025 Academic Year in the School of Electronic Information" and presided over the recognition and award ceremony. Following this, Jian Yang, representing outstanding class mentors, and Puyu Huang, representing the "Top Ten Academic Pacesetters," delivered exchange speeches. Additionally, Menglin Zheng and Qian Chen, candidates for the National Scholarship, showcased their achievements by sharing their academic accomplishments, practical experiences, and personal growth stories. Their presentations fully demonstrated the outstanding caliber of students in the School of Electronic Information and greatly inspired the audience with a fervent drive for progress.

In his address, Siyu Tan, Secretary of the School's General Party Branch, fully affirmed the work achievements of class professional mentors in the past academic year and set clear requirements for their work in the new academic year. He expressed the hope that mentors would take concrete responsibility, regularly engage with students, pay attention to their academic development, physical and mental health, career prospects, and overall growth, and provide effective guidance in a timely manner. Siyu  Tan congratulated the students who received the "Top Ten Academic Pacesetters" award and encouraged them to remain humble and persistent, continue their efforts, and fully exemplify the leading role of models. Siyu Tan emphasized that all faculty and students should jointly uphold the school's honor and strive to create a positive atmosphere where "the leadership works diligently, the teachers teach earnestly, and the students study hard." He called for continuously consolidating the virtuous cycle in which teaching ethos drives learning ethos and learning ethos promotes teaching ethos, pooling wisdom and strength to collectively advance the high-quality development of the school's various undertakings.
