To deepen fire safety education and enhance teachers’ and students’ emergency response capabilities, Shuangqiao Campus organized a fire emergency evacuation drill and "119" Fire Safety Publicity Month campus activity on the morning of November 14. Over 1,000 participants—including Hao Liu ( Deputy Chief of the Fire Rescue Brigade of the Economic Development Zone) Xiaoyong Tang (Deputy Party Secretary of the university and Director of the Shuangqiao Campus Management Committee)Jun Zou (University President Assistant),representatives of townships/streets and relevant departments, as well as teachers and students—took part in the "practical drill + interactive experience" event, injecting "protective power" into campus safety.
As the fire alarm sounded on campus, the emergency evacuation drill officially began. Students from Yueyuan and Jingshe Communities (residential areas on campus) responded promptly: following evacuation guides, they crouched low, covered their mouths and noses, and quickly and orderly evacuated from dorm buildings to the designated safe zone.
In his speech at the "119" Fire Safety Publicity Month campus activity ceremony, Xiaoyong Tang emphasized that this event is a key measure to deepen fire safety education and build a safe campus. He put forward four requirements for teachers and students:1. Raise ideological awareness and strengthen safety defenses;2. Actively participate in activities to master fire safety skills;3. Inspect potential safety hazards to build a safe campus together;4. Strengthen collaboration to improve emergency response efficiency.
Combining recent typical fire cases Hao Liu further stressed the importance of fire safety. He called on everyone to take the Fire Safety Publicity Month as a link to unify safety consensus, gather protective forces, and jointly advance fire safety construction in the Economic Development Zone.
The event site also featured interactive experience areas (including a photo backdrop wall, fire safety exhibition, fire skill training zone, and fire knowledge quiz), allowing teachers and students to engage with fire safety "up close" and ensure fire safety knowledge is both understood and internalized.
Taking the "119" Fire Safety Publicity Month as an opportunity, this activity deeply integrates theory and practice. It not only strengthens teachers’ and students’ "life first" safety awareness but also improves their practical emergency response capabilities, laying a solid foundation for a "safe, harmonious, and stable" campus environment. Next, the university will continue to promote regular fire safety education, embedding safety concepts in every corner of the campus.
