Our University Successfully Holds the First Meeting of the 4th Library Working Committee

Net News (Text/Photos by the Library Shimei Deng) On November 13th, the First Meeting of the 4th Library Working Committee of the university was held in the 6th Conference Room of the Administration Building.Mingshu Tan, Vice President of the university, attended the meeting. Relevant responsible persons from the Academic Affairs Office, Student Affairs Department, Science and Technology Department, Library, Network Information Center, all secondary colleges, as well as teacher and student representatives participated in the event. The meeting was hosted by Xiaoxu Pan, Director of the Library.

At the beginning of the meeting, after in-depth discussions, all participants unanimously approved the list of the 4th University Library and Information Working Committee, successfully completing the adjustment of the committee members. This measure has laid a solid organizational foundation for the subsequent development of the library's work.

Subsequently, Xiaoxu Pan gave a detailed introduction to the construction and utilization of literature resources in 2025, and demonstrated the construction plan for printed books, printed periodicals, and digital resources in 2026. The participating committee members listened carefully, combined with their work experience in the front line of teaching and scientific research, as well as their daily experience in using library resources, and put forward targeted and constructive opinions and suggestions based on the actual utilization of resources and the needs of teaching and scientific research.

At the end of the meeting, Mingshu Tan delivered a summary speech. He first expressed his sincere gratitude to all departments, colleges, and teacher and student representatives for their long-term care and support for the library's work. Regarding the future work of the Library Working Committee, Mingshu Tan put forward three requirements. Firstly, the library should attach great importance to the opinions and suggestions put forward by the committee members, formulate practical improvement measures, comprehensively enhance the efficiency of information services, and provide more high-quality and efficient services for teachers and students. Secondly, in terms of the construction of library and literature resources, extensively listen to the opinions and suggestions of all colleges, reasonably balance the construction of printed and electronic resources as well as Chinese and foreign language resources, and ensure that resource procurement meets the reading needs of teachers and students and the needs of teaching and scientific research. Thirdly, strengthen the collaborative cooperation with various departments in the university, deeply participate in the teaching and scientific research work of the university, and hope that all committee members can deeply understand the library, extensively promote the library's collection resources, and work together to provide strong support for the high-quality and innovative development of the university. In addition, Mingshu Tan also put forward constructive opinions on the utilization of donated books and the service positioning of the library.

The successful holding of this meeting has pointed out the direction and clarified the goals for the further development of the university's library work. The university library will continue to optimize resource allocation, improve service levels, and make greater contributions to the university's teaching, scientific research, and talent training undertakings.
