Igniting a New Journey, Empowering the Future—The "AI-Driven Smart Enhancement Training Program for University Counselors" Hosted by Our School Successfully Concludes

Net news（article by Student Affairs Office, Yingli Lv; Picture by University Student Reporter Team): To further enhance the professional qualities and job performance of university counselors in the era of artificial intelligence, the "AI-Driven Smart Enhancement Training Program for University Counselors" was held at our school from November 15th to16th. The training program invited several well-known experts in the integration of ideological and political education with artificial intelligence in higher education. Focusing on the practical application of AI technology in student affairs, multiple specialized reports and in-depth discussions were organized. More than 300 participants attended the training, including heads of student affairs departments, frontline counselors, and key staff from universities across the country.

On the morning of November 15th, the opening ceremony of the training program was held at our school. Changhong Chen, Party Secretary of our school, and Jiandong Wang, Vice President, attended the ceremony. On behalf of the school, Changhong Chen delivered a welcome speech, warmly welcoming the participating trainees and introducing the school's active exploration and practice in promoting smart ideological and political education and strengthening the professional development of the counseling team.

Subsequently, Changhong Chen gave the first keynote report entitled "The Situation and Challenges of Ideological Work in Universities in the AI Era," emphasizing that ideological work in universities must establish the political concept of the Party's leadership and a vigilance concept for the global stage. University counselors should adhere to the value concept of fostering virtue through education, enhance awareness of potential risks and bottom-line thinking, proactively adapt to technological changes, and firmly shoulder and take responsibility for ideological work.

Hengyi Zheng, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee at Chongqing University, gave a presentation titled 'Exploring New Paths for AI to Empower University Student Growth,' sharing the university's experience in building its AI counselor platform. He focused on its practical applications in personalized guidance, psychological early warning, and academic support, providing valuable practical references for the participants.

Qingshan Li, Director of the Student Affairs Office at Shenyang University of Technology, pointed out in the report 'The Role Reshaping and Capability Enhancement of University Counselors in the Era of Artificial Intelligence' that AI technology is driving the transformation of counselors from administrative managers to 'technology integrators' and 'emotional connectors,' emphasizing that intelligent tools should be used to provide more precise and warmer educational services.

Xiaoyun Wu, a senior counselor at Southwest Petroleum University, gave a presentation titled 'From the Application of AI Tools to the Construction of an Educational Ecosystem,' sharing how AI technology can be used to expand educational platforms, enhance content dissemination, deepen the impact of ideological guidance, and help improve the quality and efficiency of ideological and political work.

The workshop also included an interactive session between participants and experts. Attendees engaged in lively discussions on topics such as the practical implementation of AI technology in student work scenarios and the role of counselors in the intelligentization process, creating an active and in-depth exchange of ideas.

On the afternoon of November 16th, all participants visited Chongqing University to observe the AI Counselor Platform and related student work achievements, gaining a close-up understanding of the actual effectiveness and application prospects of artificial intelligence in the full process of student management, services, and education.

The content of this training program is systematic and diverse in form, combining theoretical depth with practical insight, providing new ideas and methods for college counselors nationwide to develop their careers and enhance their abilities in the context of artificial intelligence. As the host institution, our university will continue to leverage its pioneering advantages in the integration of intelligent education and ideological and political work, further promoting the counselor team towards greater intelligence and professionalism, and contributing more to the cultivation of a new generation capable of shouldering the great responsibility of national rejuvenation.
