School leaders give lectures on Situation and Policy to students

Net news (photo/Text by the School of Marxism, Jian Wu) On December 18, Yeping Zhang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, and Executive Vice President of the university, gave a lecture on the Situation and Policy course Winning the "14th Five-Year Plan" and Forging Ahead to students of Classes 3 and 4 of the 2023 Online Media major.

 Starting with the theoretical evolution from "planning" to "programming", Yeping Zhang provides an in-depth interpretation of the modernization transformation and institutional advantages of China's governance system. He vividly demonstrates the practical achievements of the 14th Five-Year Plan development: by taking Seres Group as an example to showcase the strength of industrial innovation, revealing the vitality of the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese culture through Ne Zha: Boyhood, interpreting the people-first value stance via the "soul bargaining" in the centralized procurement of medical insurance, and reflecting the warmth of social governance through Chongqing's "basket courier line".

He systematically interpreted the strategic opportunities, risks and challenges faced by the country during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, and emphasized that high-quality development must be driven by new-quality productive forces. Combining with Chongqing's 15th Five-Year Plan, he analyzed Chongqing's positioning and development paths as an important strategic fulcrum in western China, in terms of building modern manufacturing clusters and developing an inland opening-up hub. He also specially elaborated on the educational responsibilities of our university in the 15th Five-Year Plan period: focusing on key tasks such as discipline construction, the integration of industry and education, and talent cultivation, and taking the initiative to integrate into regional development and national strategies.

He encouraged young students to deeply understand the theoretical logic and practical wisdom underpinning the national development plans, consciously integrate their personal growth into the course of the times, solidify their professional foundations, sharpen their innovation

capabilities, and compose brilliant chapters of youth on the new journey of comprehensively building a modern socialist country.

This course featured vivid cases, a broad vision and profound elaborations. It has effectively enhanced students' systematic understanding of national development strategies, and strengthened their sense of responsibility and mission to serve the local community and dedicate themselves to the country.
