Students from our school achieved outstanding results in the final of the 8th Chongqing University Students' Physics Innovation Competition
Net news (article/ picture the School of Basic Nan Zhang) From November 14th to 16th, The final of the 8th Chongqing University Students' Physics Innovation Competition was successfully concluded at Yangtze Normal University. Our students, with their solid foundation in physics, innovative design concepts and seamless teamwork, stood out among many outstanding teams and ultimately won 2 first prizes and 6 third prizes. The number and quality of their awards ranked among the top in similar universities, fully demonstrating the excellent professional qualities and outstanding practical and innovative abilities of the students from Heavy Industry.
As a highly influential brand event in the field of physics for college students in Chongqing, this competition is hosted by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission, guided by the Chongqing Physical Society, and organized by Yangtze Normal University. It is divided into two major categories: production (scientific and technological works) and papers, focusing on assessing students' innovative thinking in physics, practical skills, and teamwork qualities. A total of over 1,200 teams from 18 universities across the city, including Chongqing University and Southwest University, participated in the competition. All the participating teams demonstrated strong capabilities, making the competition particularly intense.
To prepare for this competition, the Basic College attaches great importance to it and makes early arrangements. It has established a competition guidance group to efficiently promote the mobilization, deployment and overall organization work. Under the precise guidance and full support of the competition guidance team, 16 teams were formed through a combination of voluntary registration and selection assessment. They carried out a five-month specialized and systematic pre-competition training in accordance with the competition requirements, covering multiple core modules such as theoretical knowledge reinforcement, defense logic review, and practical skills simulation. And multiple rounds of argumentation, optimization and iterative improvement were carried out on the design plans of the entries to lay a solid foundation for the students to achieve excellent results. After rounds of screening and mock tests, eight elite teams were finally selected to represent the school in the competition.
During the final round, our school's contestants, with thorough pre-competition preparations, presented their research achievements and innovative ideas through physical displays of their works, explanations of academic posters, and on-site defense and communication. They fully demonstrated their solid comprehensive qualities and outstanding innovative capabilities, earning unanimous recognition from the judges and experts. The achievement of this result is a vivid demonstration of our school's long-term commitment to the talent cultivation feature of "integrating learning and doing, applying what is learned", and it is also a good outcome of the school's efforts in deepening the reform of the talent cultivation model and strengthening the cultivation of students' application ability and innovative spirit. In the future, the school will continue to focus on the fundamental task of "cultivating virtue and nurturing talent", deepen the intensity of educational and teaching reforms, build a broader platform for innovation and practice for students, and help more students of Heavy Industry to scale new heights in the field of scientific and technological innovation and grow into high-quality innovative talents.
