Enhancing Quality and Efficiency to Promote a Positive Learning Environment! Our University Holds the Seventh Student Affairs Special Meeting of 2025

Net news（article/Student Affairs Office,Yingli Lü; Picture/Student Affairs Office, Jia Xiong) On December 4th, our university held the seventh regular student work meeting for 2025 in Conference Room 108 of the Administrative Building. President Fangcheng Sun and Vice President Jiandong Wang attended the meeting, along with representatives from the Library, Student Affairs Office, Youth League Committee, Quality Education Center, as well as Party branch secretaries of various secondary colleges and heads (or deputy heads) of student departments.

At the meeting, library director Xiaoxu Pan reported on data such as the student library utilization rate, book borrowing rate, and graduate book donations for 2025. Through systematic comparison of recent years' data, trends and causes of changes were analyzed, and suggestions were proposed to guide students in effectively utilizing library resources and fostering a campus culture of reading.

Subsequently, Yan Huang, Director of the Student Affairs Department, provided an update on various matters, including the deployment of secondary college leadership teams to community engagement in November, student attendance, specialized inspections of student affairs, and recent phased achievements. She reviewed existing issues in the work, proposed optimization measures, and outlined key tasks for December. Additionally, she reminded faculty of related teaching responsibilities such as student major transfers, CET examinations, and final exams.

Jiandong Wang pointed out that all student affairs staff must genuinely enhance their sense of vigilance and mission responsibility, actively adapt to changes in the educational environment and student needs; they should uphold academic integrity as the core and safety and stability as the baseline, reinforcing campus security measures through institutional improvements, strengthened management, and a supportive atmosphere; they must engage deeply with student groups by regularly visiting dormitories and classrooms to understand students' ideological trends, fostering their growth through attentive care.

Finally, Fangcheng Sun delivered a concluding speech. He fully affirmed the achievements made in student affairs this semester, emphasizing that student work is a core task directly related to the development of the university and must be prioritized and implemented effectively. Addressing the current development landscape of private universities, he put forward three key requirements: first, to gain a clear understanding of the actual conditions in higher education and the competitive environment faced by private institutions, to rebuild a sense of crisis, and to proactively take measures to address various challenges; second, to strive to "operate" the university effectively, optimize the educational environment with dedication, and ensure that student affairs are closely integrated with the university's overall development and resonate in harmony; third, to firmly uphold the principle of "student-centeredness," focus on students' growth needs and personal development, help them establish scientific goals, actively respond to their demands, and genuinely enhance their "ambition" and "confidence," thereby empowering their lifelong development.

The convening of this meeting further consolidated the ideological consensus of the student affairs team, clarified the goals and pathways for the next phase of work. All student affairs personnel will continue to optimize the academic conduct improvement mechanism, deepen student service management, strengthen campus safety defenses, and demonstrate their sense of responsibility through tangible work outcomes, thereby continuously enhancing the systematicity, precision, and appeal of educational efforts.
