From November 28th to 30 th, the National Conference of Deans and Department Heads in Engineering Management from Universities was held at China University of Mining and Technology in Xuzhou, Jiangsu. Xuewei An, Head of the Engineering Management Department at the Smart City Construction College of our university, and Deputy Head Yun Zeng were invited to attend. They engaged in in-depth study of the latest industry trends in engineering management, accumulating key experience for the transformation and high-quality development of related majors at the university.
The conference was themed "Digital Intelligence Synergy and Green Innovation," focusing on core topics such as the development of engineering management disciplines, teaching reforms, and industry-education integration. During the event, three key areas were prioritized for discussion and study: 1. Exploring new directions for discipline development by delving into the core principles of the 2025 edition "Professional Guidelines" for engineering management disciplines, clarifying the updated objectives for professional training, curriculum systems, and practical requirements. 2. Accumulating experience in digital intelligence-driven teaching reforms by examining innovative practices from other institutions nationwide in the integration of "digital intelligence technology + engineering management" teaching, including application models of technologies like BIM and smart construction in courses and practical training. 3. Learning new mechanisms for industry-education collaboration by studying case studies shared by industry experts on university-enterprise partnerships and the integration of education and science, mastering methods to leverage corporate resources for building a "practice-employment-industry" closed-loop system.
The conference provided guidance for the transformation of the college's engineering management programs. The college will optimize its talent cultivation plan in line with the new edition of the "Guidelines for Engineering Management Programs," incorporating digital and intelligent as well as green-oriented course modules. Additionally, drawing on industry-education collaboration experience, the college will deepen partnerships with leading enterprises in the construction sector, upgrade practical teaching platforms, and facilitate the transformation of programs toward a "digital + green" direction, thereby enhancing the alignment between talent cultivation and industry demands.
