College President Jiang Lei, Assistant President Ying Li, Department Head Yue Yang and several other full-time teachers attended the event. Graduates from the 2017 to 2021 classes and student representatives from the school gathered together. Centering on the theme of "Passing on the Flame - Expanding Employment Opportunities", they shared their school friendships, explored the new developments in the industry, and jointly reached consensus and gathered strength for the professional development.

At the beginning of the event, Yue Yang reviewed the eight-year development history of the environmental design major since its establishment, highlighting the achievements in the upgrade of the curriculum system, including the establishment and implementation of cutting-edge courses such as generative art and space creation, digital twin and human settlement system expression, environmental big data analysis and application. This demonstrated the major's commitment to following industry trends and deeply focusing on talent cultivation. Dean  Jiang Lei and Assistant Dean Ying Li participated in the exchange and discussion throughout. Based on the college's discipline construction plan and employment work deployment, they deeply discussed with alumni the path for the deep integration of the environmental design major and smart city construction. They encouraged alumni to stay at the forefront of the industry, leverage their professional advantages, and at the same time expressed their expectations for the students in the school to cherish the learning opportunities, actively respond to industry demands, and hone core skills.

During the discussion session between teachers and students, alumni such as Jiaxin Zhu, Xiangwei Song , Siwan Chen, Dajian Hu, and Zhuomei Yang focused on the theme of smart city construction, concentrating on four major fields: cultural media, rural revitalization, tourism and culture planning, and comprehensive land consolidation and improvement. They combined their practical experience with technologies like AIGC and GIS to elaborate on the current state of the industry, job requirements, and practical suggestions for cross-domain transformation. This helped bridge the gap between technology and the industry for the students. Alumni like Shengyun Zhang , Shuang Zhao, and Heping Tian , based on their own career experiences, addressed key issues such as comprehensive quality improvement, post-graduation career transition paths, and long-term career planning layout. They provided targeted guidance for the students and shared valuable experiences on the cross-utilization of professional skills.

On-site, there were exhibitions of national-level and municipal-level first-class courses such as "Environmental Space Design" and "Rural Landscape Design and Practice", showcasing the professional teaching achievements and outstanding design works of teachers, students and alumni. This setup created a platform for the exchange of skills and experiences. During the exhibition, alumni recalled their campus study days, shared their life insights and experiences in side businesses, which further brought them closer and strengthened their emotional consensus.

In his closing speech, Jiang Lei warmly welcomed all the alumni back to the school and commended their achievements in their respective fields. He called on all the alumni to always keep the school in mind and continuously follow the development of the environmental design program. They should provide a growth platform for the younger generations through sharing experiences, project cooperation, and resource connection, and help improve the quality of professional talent cultivation. The attending alumni all expressed that this reunion was very touching. They would repay the school with their actions in the future, actively offer suggestions and contributions for the professional development, and work together to achieve higher-quality development of the environmental design department under new technologies and trends.
