Yunzhi Volunteer Service Team of Our School Selected as a National Typical Case for Volunteer Publicity

Net news (Text/Photos by School of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Yancheng Wang)Recently, the Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Center of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention announced the results of the selection of typical cases for the 2025 National "Millions of Volunteers" Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Knowledge Dissemination Activity. Our school's Yunzhi Volunteer Service Team has been successfully selected for its professional popular science services and remarkable publicity effects. This is a high-level recognition from the national level of the professionalism and effectiveness of our school's volunteer service work, as well as an affirmation and encouragement for all volunteers to adhere to their public welfare original aspiration and practice the spirit of volunteerism.

As a professional volunteer team deeply engaged in tuberculosis prevention and control science popularization on campus, the Yunzhi Volunteer Service Team has always kept closely aligned with national policies and requirements for tuberculosis prevention and control, taking "popularizing prevention and control knowledge and building a solid health defense line" as its mission. In 2025, the team organized 71 volunteers to carry out 17 diverse tuberculosis prevention and control publicity activities, covering 6 districts and counties in Chongqing, benefiting more than 12,000 people, and distributing over 6,000 copies of various prevention and control publicity materials.

In publicity practices, the team innovated communication models and built a distinctive publicity system of "Science Popularization Lectures + Interactive Experiences + Health Services". It has carried out themed activities on campus such as "TB-Free Dormitories, Carefree Campus" and "Prevent Pulmonary Tuberculosis, Build a Healthy Campus", delivering health knowledge accurately to students. It has also gone deep into communities and rural areas, providing volunteer services like "Joint TB Prevention and Control, Healthy Companionship for the Elderly" for key groups such as the elderly, popularizing prevention and control knowledge in easy-to-understand language.

In addition, the team has joined hands with local centers for disease control and prevention, Communist Youth League committees and other units to carry out government-school linkage publicity. Through free medical consultations, fun quizzes and other forms, it has made prevention and control knowledge deeply rooted in people's hearts. The achievements of these series of activities have been reported by official media, successfully constructing a "family-school-community" linked tuberculosis prevention and control pattern, which has effectively improved the tuberculosis prevention and control awareness and self-protection capabilities of different groups.Being selected as a national typical case is both an honor and a spur. Relevant person in charge of the Yunzhi Volunteer Service Team stated that the team will take this opportunity to continuously optimize publicity forms, innovate science popularization content, and further deepen school-local resource cooperation, so as to constantly improve the professionalism and pertinence of science popularization lectures. In the future, the team will continue to gather youthful strength, deepen, solidify and refine the work of tuberculosis prevention and control science popularization, continuously convey health concepts to society, and contribute more volunteer power from Chongqing Institute of Engineering to ending the tuberculosis epidemic and supporting the construction of a Healthy China.

It is reported that in the selection of typical cases for the 2025 National "Millions of Volunteers" Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Knowledge Dissemination Activity, a total of 9 typical cases (1 individual and 8 teams) were selected in Chongqing, among which our school's Yunzhi Volunteer Service Team is included. This fully demonstrates the outstanding achievements of our school in the integrated development of volunteer services and public health science popularization.
