Unique among similar universities! Heavy industry expertise showcased at city’s education conference

News from our website (Text and photos by the Party Committee Publicity Department): On February 28th, the 2026 Municipal Education Work Conference was successfully held. The conference focused on the goal of building a strong education-oriented city, outlined various tasks for educational reform and development for the year, and sounded the clarion call for high-quality educational development during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period. Our university, as the only institution among its peers to deliver a written presentation at the conference, had its educational achievements recognized. This highlights our university’s distinct strengths and remarkable accomplishments in cultivating applied talents.

At this conference, the presentation submitted by our university, titled “Adhering to Educational Standards, Leveraging Institutional Advantages, and Accelerating the Cultivation of Applied Talents through New Achievements in ‘Integration of Industry and Education and Reform’”, systematically discussed how the university uses “integration of industry and education, AI integration, and teaching reform” as strategic approaches to cultivate high-quality applied talents. The presentation shared practical experiences from the university’s efforts in this area and provided a valuable model for reference for other applied universities in the city.

In recent years, our university has focused on fulfilling its fundamental mission of fostering virtue through education. We have adhered to the principles of running a school according to established standards. Over the past three years, we’ve invested nearly 300 million yuan in improving educational facilities and establishing a systematic, standardized approach to schooling. This has helped us create a solid foundation for cultivating applied talents. Leveraging Chongqing’s “33618” modern manufacturing cluster strategy, we will establish a Digital Twin Industry College by 2025, enabling seamless integration of ten major academic programs with Chongqing’s key industries. We’ll also implement the “2.5+1+0.5” training model, creating 20 teaching institutions where students can gain practical experience through real-world projects in companies. Under this system, both initial employment rates and employment rates among those securing high-quality positions have significantly improved. Many graduates from the School of Digital Arts have even participated directly in the production of top-tier projects like “Ne Zha 2”.

At the same time, the school has utilized AI to drive profound reforms in teaching methods. It established a Research Center for Innovative Applications of Artificial Intelligence and independently developed three intelligent education platforms, including “Hailang Zhixue”. This has created a new educational ecosystem where AI enhances all aspects of teaching, learning, training, and assessment. The school has also implemented reforms based on case-based teaching, project-based training, and job-oriented learning. As a result, it has developed 82 case libraries and 79 project databases, enabling teaching to move from a standardized approach to one that caters to the individual needs of each student. These efforts have borne fruitful results: in 2025, the school won one Special Prize and one Second Prize in the Chongqing Teaching Achievement Awards. It also helped local enterprises solve 65 technical problems. For seven consecutive years, the school has been recognized as “An Organization with Outstanding Achievements in Employment and Entrepreneurship for College Graduates in Chongqing”. With its strong academic capabilities, the school contributes significantly to the development of New Chongqing.

2026 marks the beginning of the 15th Five-Year Plan period and is also a crucial year for building a strong education-based city. Our school will thoroughly implement the spirit of this city-wide education conference, continue to deepen the integration of industry and education, enhance our distinctive approach to combining industry with education, and promote the seamless integration of AI into teaching and learning. With higher standards and more practical measures, we will cultivate high-quality, applied talents, contributing our expertise and efforts to accelerating the development of a strong education system and supporting the high-quality growth of the local economy and society.
