Good News: Three Students Win Honors at Dazu Division Trials of the 13th Chongqing Popular Science Interpretation Competition

Three students recommended by the Shuangqiao Campus stood out among competitors and achieved impressive results. They are Yuling Ran and Jielin Zhang from the School of Digital Economy and Management, as well as Xueyan Yin from the School of New Media E-Commerce. Yuling Ran and Jielin Zhang both won the First Prize.Xueyan Yin claimed the Special Award and ranked second in the district, qualifying for the municipal-level competition.

Organized by the Dazu District Bureau of Science and Technology, and co-sponsored by the Publicity Department of the CPC Dazu District Committee, Dazu District Education Commission and other relevant departments, the event attracted a large number of participants from local science and technology museums, research institutes, hospitals, schools and other institutions across Dazu District.

The three students are members of the Hongyan Youth Pioneer Interpretation Team of the Shuangqiao Campus. With the professional guidance of Shuangyi Yang,Deputy Secretary of the University Youth League Committee and Secretary of the Youth League Committee of Shuangqiao Campus, and the on-site arrangement and leadership of Yuan Wang, Art Instructor of the Campus Youth League Committee, they demonstrated solid expressive skills and a vibrant spirit throughout the competition.

 Yuling Ran delivered a speech titled Secrets in Sunlight: The Life Story of G-type Stars. Comparing the Sun to an elder sister, she vividly narrated the life cycle of the G-type star. Starting with the situation in the Middle East,  Jielin Zhang elaborated on core UAV technologies by focusing on three major advantages: low-altitude penetration, low cost and swarm collaboration.  Xueyan Yin shared stories about a new type of Chinese material that can convert waste heat into electric energy, painting a vision of human bodies becoming "portable power banks". Featuring rich content, well-controlled rhythm and sincere expression, their wonderful presentations earned them well-deserved awards.

The competition has not only tested the comprehensive capabilities of our students, but also fully showcased the university’s educational features of school-enterprise cooperation, integration of industry and education, as well as its talent cultivation philosophy of integrating learning with practice and applying knowledge to real use. Taking this competition as an opportunity, the Shuangqiao Campus will further strengthen the development of the Youth Pioneer Interpretation Team and cultivate more high-caliber application-oriented talents with strong learning and practical abilities.
