Claiming the Overall Championship! Our University Table Tennis Team Shines at Dazu District Student Table Tennis CompetitionNews

Net news  (Text/Photo by Xiong Wen, School of Basic Studies)From March 27 to 29, the 2026 "Run, Youth" and "Dazu Stone Carving Cup" 7th Dazu District Student Table Tennis Competition was held at the Basketball Gym of Dazu District Sports Center. Our university table tennis team delivered an outstanding performance, winning multiple honors including the 1st place in Men's Singles , 1st place in Women's Singles , 1st place in Men's Team, and 2nd place in Women's Team . With an absolute advantage, the team claimed the 1st place in the overall team standings of Group A (University & High School Division), marking the best result in our university's history in this competition.The competition gathered more than 300 athletes from primary and secondary schools as well as universities across Dazu District to compete on the same stage. Our university’s team, led by teacher Ao Li from the School of Basic Studies, included 10 table tennis players. On the court, our athletes remained calm and played with courage and determination, executing serves, chops, and smashes in one smooth motion, showcasing solid technical skills and an uplifting spirit. In the team events, the players demonstrated tacit coordination and mutual encouragement, fully embodying the sportsmanship of unity and collaboration.

In this competition, Zixi Li from the School of Digital Economics and Management won the 1st place in the Women’s Singles, while Yingxin Zhang took 4th place in the same category. Tongchuan Zhao from the School of New Media E-commerce claimed the 1st place in the Men’s Singles . In the team events, our university’s representatives achieved 1st place in the Men’s Team (Group A: University & High School Division) and 2nd place in the Women’s Team , securing the 1st place in the overall team standings with an absolute advantage. This breakthrough achievement is a strong testament to the effectiveness of our university’s teaching reform initiative: "Sunshine PE Classes, Positive Youth Energy".

Moving forward, our university will take this competition as a new starting point to deepen physical education reform, encouraging more students to enjoy sports, improve their physical fitness, develop sound personalities, and strengthen their willpower. This will inject vigorous athletic energy into cultivating well-rounded new-era talents.
