Net news (article/ picture Career Guidance Center Qiuqing Ye) In order to guide students to establish a correct outlook on employment and encourage more students to engage in grassroots work and serve local development, on the evening of April 15, the school's Career Guidance Center held an Alumni Lecture Hall and Grassroots Employment Role Model Presentation event through an online platform. This session specially invited our 2021 outstanding alumnus in Electronic Information Engineering, currently a civil servant at the Shilong Town People's Government in Banan District, Guiling Qing, to deliver a thematic sharing titled 'From the Original Intention of Volunteering to the Mission at the Grassroots: Chase Dreams Without Wasting Time.' More than 3,600 students from the school participated in the learning and exchange online.

During her time at school, Guiling Qing performed outstandingly, being recognized as an 'Excellent Student' and receiving multiple university-level scholarships, and she also led the application for a utility model patent. After graduation, she actively participated in grassroots service, was awarded as an outstanding volunteer in the National Western Program, successfully passed the civil service examination in 2024, and devoted herself to frontline grassroots work.

Guiling Qing shared her university experiences. She mentioned that participating in career planning competitions in college reinforced her professional ideal of serving at the grassroots level, while engaging in innovation and entrepreneurship projects gave her a deeper understanding of the current situation in rural areas, which planted the seeds for her later career choices. From 2021 to 2023, while serving at the Ersheng Town People's Government in Banan District, Guiling Qing mainly worked on rural living environment improvement, project management, and other tasks. She adhered to the principles of putting 'learning' first, focusing on 'doing,' and basing decisions on 'giving back.' This experience helped her gain practical experience, strengthened her determination to serve at the grassroots level, and she was evaluated as 'Outstanding' upon completing her service.

When introducing her experience in preparing for the civil service exam, Guiling Qing suggested that students first clarify their motivations and make long-term preparations. She shared some practical preparation methods, resources, and tools, emphasizing that maintaining a good mindset is key to perseverance. Combining her personal experience, Guiling Qing gave three pieces of advice to junior students: first, try more things to find what you truly love; second, participate in extracurricular activities to enhance comprehensive abilities; third, plan your future early and work towards goals purposefully. She encouraged everyone to be down-to-earth and walk their own path.

During the interactive Q&A session, students actively asked questions about specific grassroots work and career choice dilemmas, and alumnus Guiling Qing provided candid and detailed answers based on her own experience.

This alumni lecture hall used the experiences of people around the students to tell local employment stories, presenting vivid examples of the journey from campus to the grassroots and from ideals to reality. The event provided students with a more intuitive and in-depth understanding of the Western Program, grassroots civil servant work, and career planning, helping guide students to establish a correct outlook on employment and integrate personal growth into the development needs of the country.
