Our Counselor Zhou Siqi Wins the Third Prize in the 14th Chongqing University Counselors' Quality and Competence Competition

On May 9th, the 14th Chongqing University Counselors' Quality and Competence Competition came to a successful conclusion. Outstanding counselors from universities across the city competed on the same stage. After fierce competition,Siqi Zhou , counselor of the School of Computer and Internet of Things of our university, stood out from numerous participants with her solid professional foundation, excellent on-site performance and warm-hearted educational dedication, and won the third prize of the competition, bringing honor to our university.

The competition, co-hosted by four departments including the Education Work Committee of Chongqing Municipal Party Committee and Chongqing Municipal Education Commission, is one of the highest-level professional events for the university counselor team in Chongqing. Fully aligned with the standards of the National University Counselors' Quality and Competence Competition, the competition consists of three sessions: basic knowledge test, case study and heart-to-heart talk, aiming to systematically assess counselors' policy and theoretical level, professional knowledge reserve, analysis and judgment ability, communication and coordination skills, as well as comprehensive literacy to solve practical problems. Closely linked to the actual work of ideological and political education for college students in the new era, the competition posed all-round challenges to the contestants' theoretical foundation, adaptability and educational empathy.

In the basic knowledge test session,Siqi Zhou answered questions calmly, demonstrating a solid theoretical foundation in ideological and political work and a proficient grasp of relevant policies and regulations. In the case study session, she based her analysis on the actual work of counselors, with clear logic and thorough insight, and put forward practical solutions to typical problems in student work. In the heart-to-heart talk session, with a sincere attitude, warm language and professional guiding skills, she simulated the real scene of in-depth communication with students, winning full recognition from the judges.

"Our achievement is inseparable from the university's high attention and systematic training for the counselor team building," Siqi Zhou said after the competition. The university's normalized counselor training and skill training programs have provided a good platform for front-line counselors to achieve continuous growth. She will continue to take root in the front line of student work, continuously improve her professional ability and education level, and strive to be the guide, companion and guardian for students' growth and success.

It is worth mentioning that this award marks the third consecutive year that our university has won the third prize in the Chongqing University Counselors' Quality and Competence Competition, fully demonstrating the solid effectiveness and sustained positive development momentum of our university's counselor team building. In recent years, always focusing on the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, our university has taken the construction of the counselor team as a key link in ideological and political work. Through measures such as building a systematic training system, setting up a professional development platform and carrying out normalized practical training, we have continuously improved the theoretical level, professional ability and comprehensive literacy of counselors.

In the future, our university will continue to take the counselor quality and competence competition as an opportunity, promoting learning, construction and improvement through competitions. We will further improve the training and development mechanism for the counselor team, and strive to build a high-quality, professional and specialized counselor team with strong political commitment, excellent professional competence, strict discipline and upright conduct, so as to provide strong support for cultivating new-era talents who will take on the great responsibility of national rejuvenation.
