Striving on the Field, Shining with Excellence —— Our University’s Track and Field Team Wins Multiple Awards at Chongqing University Students Track and Field Competition

Net news (article/ picture: School of Basic Education Feng Gao)The 2026 Chongqing University Students Track and Field Competition, hosted by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission, concluded at Southwest University from May 7th to 10th. After four days of intense competition, our university’s track and field team claimed multiple awards and won the "Sportsmanship Award" at the Chongqing University Students Track and Field Competition for the first time.

As the top-level event for college track and field in Chongqing, the competition attracted 1,054 athletes from 70 universities across the municipality, featuring fierce contests in all categories. Following months of high-intensity training and scientific preparation under the guidance of the coaching team, all team members competed with composure, courage and perseverance. They achieved 1 second prize, 2 fifth prizes and 4 sixth prizes; two students won the Individual Sportsmanship Award, and three students broke school records. Our team was also honored as one of the more than ten recipients of the Group Sportsmanship Award, realizing a bumper harvest in both competitive performance and spiritual civilization.

These achievements fully demonstrate the vigorous sportsmanship and fine spirit of our students. They also serve as a vivid practice of the university’s efforts to deepen the reform of physical education courses, improve the quality of college physical education teaching, and promote the educational function of physical education curriculum.
