On the afternoon of May 13th, the "Reasoning for Youth" theme creation salon organized by the Propaganda Department provided an answer to this question. This event specially invited the senior editing team of the "Reasoning for Youth" column of Chongqing Daily, along with teachers from the School of Marxism, publicity experts, and student representatives from our university, to gather together and jointly explore the way to break through the boundaries of theory video creation.

Deepen engagement with the youth community and establish a benchmark for theoretical dissemination

At the beginning of the salon, the editorial team of "Reasoning Youth" presented to the teachers and students present a vivid case study, introducing the growth process and core concepts of the program. As the first nationwide initiative to explore online theoretical dissemination targeting young people, "Reasoning Youth" was launched on March 30, 2022. Since then, it has always kept the original intention of "letting the Party's innovative theories resonate among young people", adhering to the "00s" as the main audience group, presenting big themes through small perspectives and explaining big principles in the language of young people.

As of now, the program has cumulatively achieved a total online viewing reach of over 700 million people for its videos. It has not only been designated as a Class I project for key support by the Central Cyberspace Administration, but has also won several provincial and ministerial-level awards such as the Third Prize of the China News Award and the First Prize of the Chongqing News Award. It has also been selected as one of the innovative cases of deep integration and development in China's newspaper industry. Behind these remarkable achievements lies the program team's vivid implementation of the "listening to the voices of young people, respecting their wishes, grasping their pain points, and assisting them in selecting topics" closed-loop working method.

Sharing knowledge and experiences face-to-face, stimulating creative enthusiasm

During the interactive discussion session, the editors, drawing on their rich practical experience, elaborately explained how to break the "dimension barrier" between theory and young people, covering aspects such as topic planning, script refinement, camera language, and post-production operations. They emphasized that "the dissemination of theory should not only be 'meaningful', but also 'interesting'." In their sharing, the editors stressed the importance of leveraging the language of new media, identifying the emotional resonance points of the young audience, and enabling more young people to become the main actors in "learning", the main force in "speaking", and the main subjects in "listening".

The on-site teachers and students showed great enthusiasm. They actively discussed with the editing team about the bottlenecks they encountered in their daily creative work, as well as issues related to shooting techniques. The attending students said, "This seminar has given me a completely new understanding of theoretical video creation. I never realized that high-level theories could be expressed in such a down-to-earth way. It has boosted our confidence in engaging in online political creation."

Chongqing Institute of Engineering has been committed to exploring new paths for online ideological and political education. The holding of the "Ri Xiang Youth" forum this time is not only a training course for professional skills, but also a spiritual cleansing.
