This net news(text、picture / Foreign language department Jinmei Zhang ) May 25-26, sponsored by Shanghai foreign language education press and hosted by our university, the 11th "foreign language club cup" English speech contest for college students of Chongqing private undergraduate colleges/independent colleges was successfully concluded in the lecture hall of Shuangqiao campus.
The competition was attended by 44 contestants from eight private undergraduate colleges and universities in Chongqing. Guohua Jiang, vice President of our school and President of the college of general education, Shu Wang, vice President of the college of general education, Jingbo Yi, general manager of the southwest Marketing Department of Shanghai foreign language education press, came to the site for guidance.
The competition is divided into two parts: the rematch and the final. The second round consists of a 2-minute prepared speech and a 1.5-minute impromptu speech, which mainly examines the contestants' language expression ability and logical thinking ability. The judges are teachers from eight private undergraduate colleges/independent colleges. After fierce competition, 28 contestants entered the final.
The final is composed of prepared speech, impromptu speech and expert question. It mainly examines the adaptability of the contestants and their comprehensive ability to use English. The judges are English experts from Southwest University, Sichuan International Studies University, Chongqing Jiaotong University and other universities. In the end, four contestants of our school stood out and won one second prize and three third prizes, which were also the best results in the history of our school's students participating in such competitions.
After the match, Guohua Jiang and Jingbo Yi made speeches respectively, and gave high comments on the successful holding of the competition.
