Students from Our School Won Great Achievements in Chongqing Tunnel Design Competition

Net news (article/ picture architectural engineering institute Lan Yuan) For the first time, School of Civil Engineering of our University participated in the 4th Chongqing Tunnel Design Competition sponsored by Chongqing Education Commission, Chongqing Civil Engineering Society and Tunnel Engineering Branch of China Highway Society, and undertaken by School of Civil Engineering of Chongqing Jiaotong University and Tunnel Association of Chongqing Jiaotong University.

The college attached great importance to it and carefully organized the selection of students to participate in the competition. Two teams consisting of 12 students were sent to participate in the competition. Dingyuan Luo and Lan Yuan were the instructors. In the finals, 21 teams from Chongqing University, Chongqing Jiaotong University, Chongqing University of Science and Technology and other universities competed fiercely. In the end, the "Xinsen Tunnel" designed by Chen Xu Group of our college won the second prize, the "Macabaka Tunnel" designed by  Haodong Zhang Group won the prize, Chongqing Institute of Technology won the "Excellent Organization Award", Dingyuan Luo and Lan Yuan won the "Excellent Advisor".

This tunnel design competition is based on the prefabricated tunnel project of Xinsen Avenue in Jinfeng Garden, Chongqing, which uses underground space to make reasonable transformation and alleviate the traffic jam problem of the north-south connecting channel in the core area of Science City in western Chongqing. This competition requires the design of the prefabricated tunnel of Xinsen Avenue in Jinfeng Garden, based on an ideal model, in a combination of above-ground and underground methods. The specific design content includes scheme design, structural design, construction design, solid model and animation production and other links.

Through this competition, the engineering students of Chongqing Institute of engineering are trained to apply theoretical knowledge to practice, improve their teamwork ability and practical ability, encourage them to actively learn and expand their scope of knowledge, cultivate their professional ability and comprehensive quality, and enhance their practical ability and innovation ability
