Editor’s note: Recently, the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission selected 60 graduates for the “2022 Chongqing College Graduates Grassroots Employment Excellence Award”, of which Bin Zhang, a 2014 graduate of the School of Software and Artificial Intelligence, won the award for self-employment. The award is only for students who have typical and inspiring entrepreneurial experience within 10 years of their studies or graduation. In just under ten years, Bin Zhang has started a business with a total output value of over 80 million RMB, making a positive contribution to social and economic development.

Bin Zhang is a 2014 graduate of our College of Software and Artificial Intelligence. He started his own business during his school years and was guided by the school’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Park and the school's entrepreneurial mentors to set up his company. He founded Chongqing Qianke Network Marketing Planning Co Ltd in July 2014 at the cusp of the mobile internet, and after a difficult and stormy journey to start his own business, he finally achieved a great reward. He has never changed his mind and has been active in giving back to the community when he succeeded in his business. Since 2014, the company has achieved a total output value of over RMB 80 million, paid over RMB 3 million in taxes, directly driven over 200 people into employment and indirectly driven over 1,000 people into employment, making a positive contribution to social and economic development. The company now owns nearly 500 square meters of property, and its entrepreneurial enterprise is now a member of the Chongqing Internet Association, a vice president of the Chongqing Banan District Internet Association, a member of the Chongqing New Social Strata The third member unit of Chongqing New Social Classes Association”, “Chongqing Anti-Internet Rumour Coalition Unit” (awarded by the Chongqing Public Security Bureau’s Net Security Headquarters), etc.

Bin Zhang was born in Sanyuan Village, Shuyin Town, Fengdu County, Chongqing, and is an authentic son of a farming family. In 2014, Bin Zhang founded Chongqing Qianke Network Marketing Planning Co Ltd, which has developed from a simple public number promotion to a new media matrix enterprise integrating public number, self media and short video, achieving an annual revenue of more than 10 million yuan.

The company currently has 16 WeChat public numbers and a number of self media accounts, including “Chongqing Food”, “Chongqing Travel Tips”, “Chongqing Micro Life” and other local well-known WeChat The total number of followers exceeds 200,000, of which “Chongqing Cuisine” alone has more than 80,000 fans. As his entrepreneurial path broadens, Bin Zhang has achieved personal economic independence and freedom, and is thinking about how to influence more people.

Since its inception, the company has become a representative company of the city’s new media industry after several years of development. Bin Zhang himself has also become a representative of the fourth session of the Chongqing Banan District Youth Federation and a representative of the new class of Chongqing people. Bin Zhang believes that being a member of the Youth Federation is not only an honour, but also a heavy responsibility. He actively participates in the training activities organised by the United Front Work Department of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee to the Yan’an Party School and Zhejiang University, and strives to improve his cultural and political training through study.

Bin Zhang always believes that enterprises are a unit of society, with social attributes, should be in their own development at the same time to actively participate in public welfare. During the epidemic, Bin’s Zhang company not only completed its own production tasks, but also actively responded to the government's call to participate in the fight against the epidemic. The company actively participated in public welfare, providing tens of thousands of yuan of materials such as masks and protective clothing needed by the community to fight the epidemic in a timely manner, providing strong support for the fight against the epidemic. During the most difficult time of the epidemic, more than 10 employees lived and ate in the company to ensure the normal operation of the business while actively speaking out and spreading positive energy through their own self-media accounts, sending out more than 50 articles related to the epidemic with a cumulative readership of over one million, achieving good publicity and social repercussions.

He also actively participated in various entrepreneurial deeds experience sharing activities held by his alma mater Chongqing College of Engineering and Banan District, sharing his entrepreneurial experience to his younger siblings. With the expanding scale of the entrepreneurial team, it has also provided numerous employment and internship opportunities for students of related majors in his alma mater, driving a total of over 1,200 people to internship and employment! He hopes that more students with ideal ambition and technical foundation can give full play to their professional strengths and actively participate in the flood of mass entrepreneurship and innovation, and that more young people can embark on the path of entrepreneurship, achieve their dreams and realise their value in life through his influence!
